Osteoarthritis is a type of joints disease that occurs from breakdown of joint cartilage and underlying bone.
What Happens in Osteoarthritis?
In normal joints, a rubbery material called cartilage is present at the ends of each bone. Cartilage provides a smooth, gliding surface for joints motion and acts as a cushion between the bones. In Osteoarthritis, this cartilage breaks down, leading to symptoms such as pain and swelling while using the joints. Osteoarthritis can affect any joints, but it occurs most often in the knees, hips, lower back ETC

What Causes Osteoarthritis?
- Aging
- Gender, Osteoarthritis affects both men and women. It is more common in men.
- Excess body weight. recent research suggests that excess body fat produces chemicals that cause joint inflammation.
- Injury to joints.
- Genetic factors.
- Occupation that requires repeated, forceful or excessive bending lifting or carrying heavy loads

- Avoid joints injury.
- Good regular diet.

- Physical and Occupational Therapy
- Pain control NSAIDs , Opioid Analgesics, etc.
- Injectables Corticosteroids Hyaluronic acid for Intraarticular injection
- Nutritional Supplements Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are nutritional supplements derived from cartilage.
- Surgery Most people with osteoarthritis won’t need surgery. However, surgery may be helpful when there is sevre joints pain and disability.
